Der, die or das?

der Name

masculine noun · name · level A1

The plural

die Namen - in the plural, every German noun takes the article die.

Example

Der Name steht auf der Tür.
The name is on the door.

Why der?

Exception! By its form, "Name" looks like it should follow the rule Nouns ending in -e, but its real gender is masculine: der Name. Learn it as-is.
